Softball
This summer, we did something we have never done before – played an organized sport as adults! We signed up for the summer adult softball league through our church, CCV! While our team wasn’t at the top of the leaderboards, we enjoyed getting out and meeting new people, making fun memories, and doing something to keep us young! For the last game of the season, Jon just had to go all out to try and score for the team. Despite multiple people giving him advice to wear pants, he wore basketball shorts, which didn’t work out to well for him when he slid into 3rd base! At least he and our teammate Mike have matching scrapes for a photo!
Back on a Schedule
Sometimes life gets crazy. Uncontrollable. Schedules and planning get thrown to the wind and you just try to keep your head above water! For us, that sums up the last couple of months. We had a great daily routine in place that left us feeling good about taking care of ourselves, getting work done, and creating family time. After being off that schedule for the last couple months, we were excited (YES, excited) to get our lives back on a daily schedule. It feels great waking up with a plan and it’s our secret to feeling successful every day!
Pool Days
The summertime does create a little extra play time for us, and we’d be lying if we didn’t say we’ve been taking full advantage of it! We’ve been taking afternoon time to hit the pool with the kids and watch them keep getting better and better in the water. Brody and Paislee both discovered goggles this year and have been having a blast going after diving sticks in the pool.
Brody New School
One big struggle for us has been finding the right school for Brody. We absolutely loved the teacher he had last year. She was amazing and Brody did great in her class! We set out this year though hoping to find a school with a little but of a different focus and emphasis in different areas. We found it. Then we found out there was a waiting list! We were so relieved this week to get the phone call that room had been made for him and he’ll be able to start second grade at a school both he and us are excited for!
Sleep Over Night
Today, we’ve got a full plate. We’re starting to work with a local magazine, the North Scottsdale Lifestyle Magazine, and we’ve got a full day of photoshoots lined up for all of the different local businesses they are featuring! After a long day of work, and with the summer nearing an end, we could think of no better way to start the weekend than adding six more kiddos to the mix Friday night and having all of our nieces and nephews over for a sleepover! We love the close relationship they all have, and can’t wait for the fun (and chaos)!
