Brand Photoshoot with Amy & Jordan Demos

Those hashtags kept flashing in my eyes as I scrolled through the gram. I still had no clue how hashtags worked, but I finally clicked on one of them and saw a super cute photography…couple?…sitting at a hightop table and teaching photography. Their names were Amy & Jordan Demos.

I assumed they were married and as I began to stock their Instagrams and as I dug a little deeper into who they were, I discovered I was right.

That’s when I was drawn in. Not just to their gorgeous photos. Not just the valuable things I was craving to learn about photography. But to them. To the people they seemed to be and the joy beaming off of their Instagram feeds. That’s when I clicked on that blue bar to follow along with Amy & Jordan and soak up everything I could from their social media.

Following along turned into reading every single Monday morning email they used to send out. That then turned into me waiting for their new blogs to get published so I could learn as much as I possibly could. Reading their blogs turned into me stalking their Instagram stories (don’t worry…I like to think that since I admit that I’m stalking, it means that I’m not the creepy kind of stalker 😉 ) and waiting to see what wedding of theirs was going to inspire me next. Loving what they did on IG turned into Jon and I sitting in the very front row at their workshop scribbling down notes while discovering that we shared something in common with them – the dream to own our own business full-time together as a husband and wife. Without knowing it, that workshop was helping us break down the walls of doubts and fears that we had boxed our dream into.

Where we didn’t see how things could possibly play out of us – they shared their story and testimony of it working out for them.

When we doubted this idea and that thought – they dished out way more truth and possibilities than we ever thought possible.

While we were questioning ourselves and our ability – they were affirming us and speaking encouragement over us during the days of the workshop that we had with them.

They didn’t know it, because we were both too nervous to open up and share it with them, but they changed us through that workshop when they helped us change our mindset and made us believe in ourselves and the reality that we absolutely could make our dreams come true.

We left the workshop with game-changing value, memories and impressions we would never forget…

…and two river rocks.

The two most impactful things that Amy & Jordan gave us.

Jordan capped off one of the discussions at the workshop and encouraged everyone by quoting Frank Gifford and saying, “You only get one stone in life, so throw it hard and throw it well.”

And after that moment that’s exactly what we set out to do each and every day as we wake up to live our dream and build a business.

We didn’t know how it was all going to pan out or what would come of our efforts, and we certainly didn’t know that one day we would get the opportunity to take branding photos for the two very people who pushed us and encouraged us towards our dreams when we were doubting ourselves.

Here I am 4 months after their shoot, writing this blog, and my head is still spinning with joy and excitement for this photoshoot that was so much more than a photoshoot for us. It was a day that created such a “full circle” moment for us, and this shoot marked one of the most rewarding days in our business so far.

Getting to create images for their business was an honor, but allowing them to see firsthand what we created within our business as a result of their friendship, teaching, encouragement, and everything else that they have poured into us was PRICELESS.

If everything I’ve said to this point doesn’t tell you enough of how much we love and appreciate Amy & Jordan, let me just say how much we love and appreciate them. In business, and even in marriage and life, these two have impacted us in so many incredible ways and we’re so thankful to God for how He has used them in our lives.

When you look at these photos we hope you see the joy that they have. They’re two of the most genuine and kind people we know, and we’re so excited to share some of the highlights from our session with them!

Also…I think it’s safe to say to NEVER underestimate the power of a hashtag. We’ve experienced WAY MORE than growing our reach on a post through hashtags and we’ll always be thankful for #demossandwich 😉

To: Amy & Jordan, THANK YOU! We’ve said it a million times already, but it will always feel appropriate to thank you two for the impact you have had on us. And I think it’s fair to say that chances are, we wouldn’t be sitting here recapping our session with you guys and sharing it across our blog for others to see if it weren’t for the two of you. You spoke into our lives during such a timely season for us and it hasn’t been the same since. 

As we continued to email in our discouragement as we started our business and DM-ed looking for someone to relate to – because we knew you guys had been in the difficult seasons of business we were finding ourselves in – you told us to keep going and encouraged us of the incredible reward that was to come. We’ve never taken anything you’ve poured out to us lightly. In fact, it’s done the exact opposite, and your support and encouragement has helped us carry the heavy load that building a business can bring and we are so grateful for that! As photographers, educators, and friends we are so blessed to have you in our lives and we thank God for those hashtags that led us your way. 🙂 We love you guys!!
