The air was finally beginning to cool off. It was that tolerable pre-fall evening temperature. The Starbucks was packed, so we found our seats outside on the patio under the lights. This was nothing unusual for us. At least not yet. We were meeting a potential bride and groom for a wedding consultation. We were taking time to get to know them, and letting them get to know us. In the middle of our meeting, he said something that stopped us in our tracks. Something that caused Jon to lose his train of thought. Words that we walked away marked by.
We were showing some of our past brides and grooms to them, when Seth set them aside. We were nervous as he started to speak. Seth had been intently studying us the entire evening, only occasionally interjecting in the conversation. He set our work aside and started, “These photos are great and all, but…” If we are honest, for a moment between the ‘but’ and his next words, we thought something was wrong. Like we hadn’t connected in the way we’d hoped we would. Like we were going to lose this opportunity with them.
He continued…
“But this isn’t really what is important to me. When we choose you, you won’t just be our photographers. We will be choosing to welcome you into our family. You will be there for our most special day. And years from now when we have a child, you will be there too. You will be a part of us.”
We were almost speechless.
The words he had just spoken grabbed us in that moment more than he realized. We left feeling completely fulfilled. Whether we booked Nicky and Seth’s wedding or not, we knew we were impacting lives in a positive way, which is exactly what we set out to do.
Nicky and Seth’s Saguaro Lake Engagement Session left us feeling nothing but all of the love that they have for each other and for those around them! These two were so dreamy in the soft light along the rocky river bank! You could see the passion they have for each other in their eyes the entire evening! They trusted us completely as we asked them to walk over rocky river banks in ankle boots or dance in the soft desert sunlight next to not-so-dreamy freshly deposited horse droppings! They absolutely killed it though, as you will see in the images below!!
Nicky and Seth, you guys are quite simply amazing! You’ve impacted our lives personally in such a positive way, and your love for each other is incredibly contagious! We are so honored to be brought into your family! You two are absolutely adorable and we cannot wait to be a part of your wedding day in September!!
