Hey Ya’ll! It’s Friday and it’s time for our Friday Top Five! If you are new to our Friday Top Five blog series, hop over to the very first one, Part 1 to start! It will help you understand our Friday Top Five and the fun we like to share here!
– This week we were feeling the Monday morning blues. It wan’t that we weren’t excited to be back to our grind. Instead, it was that we weren’t in Show Low anymore! As the summer temperatures keep rolling in here in the desert, we will be looking for any and every excuse to visit Erica’s parents in Show Low. **Hint – summer session up North, anyone!?** We enjoyed spending Mother’s Day in the cool pines sitting on the patio all day from morning coffee to late evening chats!
– Monday wasn’t all terrible though – it was Jon’s birthday!! He was excited that he didn’t have to share his birthday this year with Mother’s Day, and Erica started his day off perfectly with the most beautiful birthday letter, and ended it with a surprise cake (Even though he said no cakes) 😉
– Jon had some strange special requests for his birthday. Erica is still deciding whether he is just weird, or if he’s just starting to show his age (he just turned 31)! After enjoying lunch with Erica and Paislee, Jon wanted to get a haircut and go home and do yard work. It was magical! But really, it’s what he asked for, so it’s what we did! 🙂
– We get together with a group from our church to enjoy community and talk about life and things we are learning together. This week was a little different though. We set aside for a game night, and up until now, we had NO idea how competitive our whole group was! Something about CatchPhrase always brings it out in you. Combine men’s versus women’s CatchPhrase with no babysitter that night for all the kids, and you get a rowdy night, but a heck of a good time!
– As Brody is getting close to the end of the school year (only one more week!) we received some great news from his teacher. No Homework for the rest of the year!! Any parent’s reading this knows what a relief that is to hear!
