As we made our way to Show Low, AZ to photograph a very special wedding, we were prepared and ready for everything we love about wedding days. Celebrating the bride and groom. Focusing all of our attention on them and the vows they’d be making in front of friends and family. We knew this wedding would be a little different, since we’d be photographing and attending the wedding of Erica’s Uncle Kelly and Aunt Lynn, but what we didn’t know was just how different this wedding really would be. It was obvious to everyone there – Kelly and Lynn wanted this wedding to be about celebrating family and friends, and it showed in every way.
We can’t think of a better place to get married – especially outdoors – in Arizona’s summer heat than at the beautiful Torreon Golf Community in Show Low! We’d been looking forward to their wedding and the perfect excuse to escape to sunny and 75°, and we weren’t disappointed with the weather! Shooting and attending a wedding was a first experience for us, and we loved being able to gather with family and friends the night before and experience all of the excitement we’d be capturing the next day!
As we said, Uncle Kelly and Aunt Lynn wanted this wedding to be all about family and friends. Everyone involved in the wedding from the officiant to – yes – the photographers were family and it was such a special thing to be a part of. Lynn even went so far as to have special kids dinners served at their reception and a kid-friendly candy bar for all of them to enjoy. We may have even indulged in it a little bit as well!
Aunt Lynn looked gorgeous walking down the long curved aisle towards Uncle Kelly. We loved hearing them recite their own personal wedding vows and watching them celebrate their faith with a Unity Cross ceremony as part of their day. It was an intimate ceremony with their closest friends and family there to witness the start of their new lives together!
Uncle Kelly and Aunt Lynn, thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your wedding day. We were honored not only to be there and witness you two be married, but also to be a part of photographing it for you.
