His hands shook as he buttoned his shirt in the groom’s getting ready room at the beautiful Villa Siena. Even before the ceremony began, the nerves, excitement, and anticipation of what was about to take place were evident through his demeanor. As we waited for Nicky to arrive for their first look, he stood with his back turned, anxiously awaiting her arrival. He turned and greeted her with a kiss, eyes welling up, but standing there as her rock. And later, as Reed gave his daughter away to be married to Seth, he thanked God for bringing her someone who was more than he could have ever prayed for. The day was all about the bride and groom, but we couldn’t help but notice Reed’s emotions as the day went on.
Seth and Nicky’s Via Siena wedding was absolutely gorgeous! The tuscan inspired venue was a perfect fit for the classic black and white tuxedos and ivory dresses that the bridal party wore. The pops of purples, pinks and greenery from the bouquets was all that was needed to accent the already classy event!
Their wedding was an interfaith ceremony, mixing both Mexican and Jewish traditions, and some of the symbolism behind the ceremony events were simply beautiful. One of our favorites had to be the way they incorporated both traditions in a Lazo Ceremony. The mother of the bride and mother of the groom both approached the front and wrapped Nicky and Seth in a prayer shawl. It was a touching moment as both mothers stood besides their children and wrapped them with love and prayer for their future together.
And let’s not forget one of the most epic celebrations ever – the Hora dance at the reception! It was the first Jewish ceremony we have been to, and the Hora had us wishing that was something we did for our own wedding! It was so fun to photograph Seth and Nicky taking turns being hoisted up in chairs above their guests! You guys sure know how to throw a party!
Seth and Nicky, from the first time we met you we knew you guys were special. Your kindness, thoughtfulness and open arms marked us from the beginning. We’ll never forget the words you said to us, that it was more than hiring us as your photographers, it was welcoming us into the family. We felt like part of the family during your wedding, and we were so excited to celebrate along with your loved ones as we photographed your big day.
Enjoy your sneak peek guys! With love – Erica + Jon.
