Beautiful Paradise Valley Backyard Session

It was cold. Very cold. They’d already been braving the frigid temperatures for a good 45 minutes. That’s when they brought the idea to our attention. She ran inside and grabbed a treasured photo off of the wall and walked it over to us. She was beaming. It was a photo of Elizabeth and her three girls. It was a favorite. Each of them had a scarf and were huddled together looking upward at the camera. Now, 12 years later, they wanted us to recreate the memory. Jon jumped up onto a nearby ledge and stood on top of a stool. As they huddled together under one shared scarf, Jon snapped the image. It was a fun photo – but the best part was their reaction! As Jon turned the camera around to show them, all four ladies let out a unanimous ‘OHHHHH!’ In that moment, we saw the deep love they had for each other, and the unique bond and friendship that a mother has with her daughters.

Our time with the Weiss and Salsky families was so much fun. When Emily reached out to us about surprise photos as a gift for her mom’s 60th birthday, we were ALL IN! Their entire family was perfectly coordinated with shades of khaki, maroon, cream and denim! And the beautiful backyard with cream colored walls, lush bougainvilleas and a deep green lawn you can only find in Arizona during the winter, was magical! It was such a privilege to be there to witness and capture the fun of the entire family coming together to enjoy the holidays!

To the Weiss and Salsky families, you guys are so amazing! Your family was so welcoming and we loved getting just a small taste of how fun the holidays are with you all together. Thank you for opening your home for a beautiful session with your sweet family. We both agreed it was a great way to start our final day shooting for 2017! Happy (late) Birthday to you, Elizabeth! We hope you had the BEST time celebrating with your friends and family!
