– This week we were so excited to go to Brody’s school! It was award week and he made the Principal’s List for the first quarter. It means he got straight A’s and great behavior for the entire quarter, and we couldn’t be more proud of him! We prepped him in advance letting him know he’d be winning an award. What we didn’t think of though? That there were multiple awards and he might not understand that. So when they handed out awards for Honor Roll and his name wasn’t called, we thought nothing of it, because we knew he was being honored with the Principal’s List in the next group. We found out after picking him up that he didn’t see it going down that way AT ALL! He said, ‘Yeah and I only got a little teary eyed when they handed out the first ones, but I didn’t even cry!’ Our little guy thought he wasn’t getting an award after all! We felt terrible that he had a moment of being upset, but it made us laugh at how different things can be perceived.
– We love rewarding our kids for their accomplishments, so when Brody received his award, the first stop after school was our family favorite treat stop – Menchie’s! If you haven’t had Menchie’s, you need to put it on your list of places to try! It’s a frozen yogurt place and our kids love being able to make their own!
– Busy week calls for some relaxation and personal care – so of course the thing to do it have a family facial mask night! Brody and Paislee always get a kick out of Erica’s facial masks, so we all joined in the ‘fun’ this week!
– Jon was able to check ‘landscaping’ off his to do list this week! Seems small, but getting behind on it drives him crazy!
– We will be having a fun-filled day today watching our nieces and nephews! Erica’s sister and brother-in-law are taking a weekend stay-cation, so we are taking care of our 4 nieces and 2 nephews for the day until her parents come into town from Show Low to take over! Here’s to lots of fun, a little craziness, and memories made!!
