Meet Taylor, the latest High School Senior to take part in the E&J Senior Experience! Taylor is a beautiful brunette who is seriously trying to set the record for the level of involvement that a senior can have!
She attends Central Catholic High School in Portland and is on the State Championship winning volleyball team. Way to go Taylor! Volleyball is a huge passion of hers and it shows. Not only does she play on the school team, but she plays club volleyball year round and beach volleyball in the summer! In her spare time, Taylor is involved in student council and serves as a community committee leader. She also volunteers every Saturday on a teen to teen crisis line and helps talk other teens through a wide variety of situations they find themselves in. When does she even have time for homework!? I know this sounds more like a job application than a blog post but all we can say is, Taylor is racking up a pretty sweet resume! Way to kill it girl!
Taylor’s time with us started with the essential hair and makeup time! Our talented makeup artist enhanced all of her natural beauty and added a knockout look with her eye makeup, while I curled and styled her hair. We headed out into a typical cloudy, drizzly PNW fall day and started at a beautiful urban park in the heart of the Pearl District of Downtown Portland. The hustle and bustle of the city was all around us but the serene park provided a scene of local plants and watershed with a picture perfect walkway cutting across the middle and back dropped by tall city buildings. We loved the wall of reclaimed railroad ties that brought earthy tones into the scene as Taylor lit it up with her fun personality and bright smile. We had a special surprise at the park as we were just starting our session. Picture this – right as we are trying to ease Taylor into our session, a tall and lanky middle aged man dressed to the nines in full business suit attire with retro circular purple lens sunglasses to boot started dancing and singing like no one was watching in the middle of the walkway. Only problem was everyone was watching! I apologize for slacking and not sharing this on our Instastory for your benefit. We were to caught up in his performance to think that clearly. Taylor rocked her style in spite of, or maybe thanks to? – this awesome performance!
We drove to the second location where Taylor decided to change into her second outfit. Jon and I bring along a portable changing station for our clients to give them a comfortable and private place to switch outfits mid-session. It’s a simple pop up style room with 4 walls and a door but no roof. Since Jon’s duties usually include being a pack mule at some point in the day, he grabbed the gear and set up the changing station in a tucked away corner out of the wind and the crowd. Jon and I were scoping out the area while Taylor got ready when we realized the rain had really picked up…I mean, really picked up. No worries though, we were under a bridge and perfectly dry – at least Jon and I were. That’s when we realized that poor Taylor was getting wet because the changing station was literally in the ONE spot that the rain was coming down on!! One cute bubble umbrella did the trick and saved her from getting soaked, but not before giving us all a good laugh at the great placement Jon had made.
Taylor, you seriously impressed us with everything you are involved in and committed to. You are a prime example of a generous and giving person who is really soaking up every opportunity available and then some. Enjoy every moment of your senior year – it will be over before you know it. Best of luck to you as you move to Cali next year to start the next chapter in your life!
