What an honor it was to be asked by Melodee Fiske of Melodee Lynn Photography to fly out & photograph Shane & Jinnae’s wedding with her! I was so excited the night she text asking if I was available to come – another trip back to my home state of Arizona is always a treat. I grew up with Jinnae so it was so fun to get to witness her marriage and also to share a part in photographing her perfect day.
Anyone that knows Jinnae know that she is incredibly crafty and her wedding was the perfect event for her to let her inner craftiness go wild! From her gorgeous look, to the bridal party’s style, to her handmade backdrop and intimate backyard ceremony, not a single detail was forgotten. And seriously though, the detail that went into that backdrop is impressive! And knowing the friends and family that helped to bring it all together makes it that much more special. I know that Melodee can agree with me that all of the fine details in this wedding made for a photographer’s dream!
Shane & Jinnae’s ceremony was so sweet and full of emotion. I couldn’t stop smiling the whole day and I had to quickly adjust to shooting through misty eyes. There is just something about the father-of-the-bride and the groom being emotional that causes everyone present to tear up. All of the guests were so full of joy, and you could tell everyone was excited to see these two begin the rest of their lives together. Shane is a personal trainer and a man’s man. It was moving to see his gentle care and love for his bride as they exchanged their personally written wedding vows and he struggled to get the words out through his raw emotions. And Jinnae, as you will see from their first look pictures was overcome with excitement and passion as they turned to see each other in an intimate desert setting before the ceremony began. These two, hand in hand, complete and compliment each other in such a perfect way!
I can’t talk about their wedding day without taking time to mention how much fun I had working alongside Melodee. She seriously rolled out the red carpet as a host, personally chauffeuring me to and from the airport and welcoming me into their home, even having a sweet basket of goodies for me in their guest room. I was so neat to watch her eagerness to not only capture Shane & Jinnae’s wedding the best she could, but to watch her genuinely enjoying the day along with them. But the moment that stood out the most happened just before we arrived to begin shooting. Melodee had us pause, and prayed for us both and for God to establish the work of our hands. That moment right there spoke volumes to me about the heart behind what she does as a photographer. It also confirmed why we made a great team.
