When we walked off the train and up onto the street level, we turned around to see her holding much needed coffee and waiving in our direction. It was like a scene from a movie. We were in a new place, in the middle of the city, being greeted in a small-town way with all the hustle and bustle going on around us. We’d met before. Once. For a couple of hours. And yet when they heard we were coming to Chicagoland, they were quick to open up their home to us. The warm welcome and their amazing generosity is just part of what marked us about the Walker family.
Brett and Nichole were amazing hosts and helped us finalize all of our plans for the week. Especially their daughter Mia. She was sweet enough to let us use her room, and as if that wasn’t enough, she gave us the full rundown on the best places to eat and checked in on us every morning! 🙂
We loved capturing their family in their in-season element! Brett is the Physical Therapist for the Chicago White Sox, and they call Chicago home during baseball season. Their family was all smiles for an early morning session that followed a night game. Their downtown home is surrounded by beautiful landscapes we don’t often get to shoot in! The park right in front of their building was absolutely gorgeous, and we couldn’t resist taking advantage off the crosswalk with the busy morning streets!
Walker family, our first visit to Chicago would have been no where near the same without you. Your generosity, hospitality and warm personalities are character traits that are far too uncommon, but not for you. You literally made our trip, and we are SO happy you spend half the year in Arizona, because you better believe you’ll be seeing more of us! We were so honored to take your family photos, and hope you love this sneak peek as much as we do!
