They said he wasn’t feeling well. Between jet lag and a nasty cough, it had been a rough start to their Arizona vacation. They were concerned that little Wyatt wasn’t going to participate very well for photos. They told us he was always the happiest little guy with the biggest smiles. We could tell that Jennifer was hoping with all she had that he would find it in him to feel his normal self for just a little while. The truth is, he did that and more!
We were greeted by nature as we started walking Paul, Jennifer, and their two boys Riley and Wyatt to our first location. As we moved into place, we heard a howl from behind us. We looked up to see a coyote staring at us from the top of a nearby hill. It got more intense as a lady walking her dog let them loose to chase it off. The chase went down right next to us. Riley, a two year old animal lover, was in his element! To make the desert introduction more perfect, he spotted a roadrunner part way through our session as well! It was a real life version of Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner happening before our eyes!
The Joelson family couldn’t have been any more adorable! Jennifer coordinated their outfits perfectly and both Riley and Wyatt, despite his illness, were some of the most enthusiastic about the photos! As we prepared Wyatt for his six month old pictures, his little cough seemed to momentarily fade away and that big, happy smile was shining for days! We were so honored to have been able to photograph this beautiful family from Minnesota for their first photo session in the desert!
Jennifer and Paul, you guys have a beautiful family. We loved getting to know you both and spending time with you guys. Your boys are adorable, and Riley was simply the best! We’re so glad he got to see the horses after the session! We hope that these family photos will be the best takeaway from your vacation to the desert!
