Before we arrived, the news cameras had already been onsite filming. All of the preparations were in place. It was kind of a big deal. We love the family behind the local Italian restaurant, Babbo Italian Eatery. We’ve always known that they have a heart of gold. But when we attended their 15th Anniversary and Grand Opening of their eighth location both as guests and to photograph the event, we realized just how big their hearts really are.
It was a huge day for Babbo! Not only were they marking the official Grand Opening of their location at Talking Stick in Scottsdale, but they were also celebrating their 15th Anniversary. We were inspired to hear how they started with just a handful of employees and have now grown to over 500 employees across all eight valley locations! Their business has been blessed, and they deserve it!
The most amazing part of the day wasn’t the heartfelt speech that the owner, Ken, gave. It wasn’t the pretty ballon arch across the entry way or the thoughtful gift bags they had prepared for their guests. The most amazing part of the day was the act of giving behind it.
On Thursday, Babbo Italian Eatery donated 100% of profits across all eight valley locations to Phoenix Children’s Hospital. The impact of their donation was shown as a representative from PCH asked the audience to raise their hands if they knew someone close to them who had been helped by the hospital. Nearly every person raised a hand, including us.
Not only did they donate the profits from business that day, but they also matched it with their own funds as an additional donation for the hospital! We felt so honored not only to be able to be there in support, but also to work with such an amazing family!
