Hey guys!! On Friday’s we share our Friday Top Five, a recap of the week we’ve had. If you are new to our Friday Top Five blog series, hop over to the very first one, Part 1 to start! It will help you understand our Friday Top Five and the fun we like to share here!
Spartan Race
A couple of years ago, Jon finally met his long term goal of completing the Spartan Trifecta and the Tough Mudder all in one season. If you’re unfamiliar, they’re this crazy intense mud run/endurance race that he likes to punish himself with. It was a huge accomplishment and something he was proud to have done. Well, it’s been a couple of years, but thanks to the nudging of some good friends, he started back at it and just completed the Spartan Stadium Series race at University of Phoenix Stadium! This was a clean race – no mud, no water. What it did include? Just about every stair in the joint. Leg burn! He felt great getting back out there though!
Diamondback’s Game
Jon’s parents have been in town and treated us all to a Diamondback’s game! We loved bringing the kids to their second game, this time right along the third baseline! We had gloves up waiting for foul balls to catch, but didn’t get so lucky this time. The game went on into extra innings, and didn’t end until the 16th inning! Unfortunately, we lost, but it was so much fun!
Shooting In A Monsoon
We started the week off facing a new challenge. We’ve shot in the middle of storms before but never quite to this extent. We had scheduled headshots with a client for multiple people on white backdrop when a super powerful storm rolled in! The storm knocked out the power and we had to get creative! We set up flashes and the white backdrop at the front of their garage to gain as much natural light as possible. It was working until a good gust of wind picked up and blew over our flashes and tore our paper backdrop in two! Luckily, we came prepared and were back to shooting in no time, but it was an experience we won’t forget!
Sleep Over Night
Brody and Paislee love having sleepovers. Not so much that they sleepover at someone else’s house. More so that they like it when they get to have a sleepover together! It’s the cutest thing and we love that they are so close like that. Usually sleepovers only happen at Nana and Papa’s house, but this week we let them have one in the guest room. We sat smiling on the couch as we heard them laughing and goofing off before falling asleep. Ages 6 and 3 can be challenging, but boy are they a lot of fun!
Pool Time
Sometimes you just have to change up the routine! After a marathon editing week for Erica, we decided to start the day off differently and loaded up for the pool! It was a great way to break up the normal daily grind and to be honest we didn’t want to leave. Then nature helped us get back to work after Brody got stung by a bee! He took it like a champ after an initial panic moment, but we took that as our cue to leave.
