This week our friends, Amber and Mikey from Washington, have been visiting and to say we’ve had an amazing week with them is the understatement of the year! So this week’s Top Five is a little different since the entire week has been about time spend with them!
– Our kids LOVE Amber and Mikey and watching them get so excited to be with them was so sweet! We’ve found ourselves competing for time to talk to them because our kids can’t get enough go them and can’t quite telling the stories. It’s the BEST!
– Halloween! Oh my goodness you guys, our kids made Halloween SO fun for us!! Brody could NOT stop telling us how much he appreciated us taking them our to trick-or-treat! Our little Rock Star guy and Princess Poppy from Trolls were on cloud nine all night going door to door and their excitement each time was priceless! So was Paislee’s lack of experience in Halloween etiquette. While she was standing at the door of the house, she’d answer questions they had about her costume while simultaneously reaching her hand into their bowl to grab more candy while there was a distraction! We taught her well! Just kidding!!
– We probably don’t need to tell you at this point that ‘This is Us’ is our favorite tv show! Of. All. Time. When we lived in Washington, we would get together with Amber and Mikey to watch it with us, cry through it with us, and laugh through it with us. Having them with us this week and catching up on episodes we had missed was exactly what we needed! We were all captivated and Erica was literally crying during one of the best monologues we’ve ever heard. Rebecca, you gripped our hearts at the end of that episode!
– If you read our blog post on Monday, then you got the inside scoop on our top spots that we couldn’t wait to take Amber and Mikey to! It was SO fun watching them experience and taste some of our all-time favorite things! Being a tour guide is crazy fun!! 🙂
– One other highlight of our time together was showing them some of the desert scenery! Being North Westerners, Cacti were things they only saw in the movies! It made us realize how little we actually know about cacti ourselves, because once we got past the saguaros and cholla, we were clueless with naming the rest of them!
Mikey and Amber – Thanks for an amazing week together and for being the best friends we could ask for! Thanks for putting up with our family antics for the week and making new memories together! And thank you for always being dependable and encouraging friends. We love you guys!!
