The IncrediBull Stella!

We first met in a Starbucks in Scottsdale. She walked in with her best friend, a pit bull named Stella. We were expecting to simply meet and discuss a business partnership, but we left with a whole lot more. As we talked, we began to hear her story. A story that swung from the lows of cancer diagnosis and a strained family to the highs of remission and a reunited relationship. And all of the story centered around one incredible dog, a pit bull named Stella – or maybe we should say, the IncrediBull Stella!

We don’t want to give away too much of their story, as part of our work with Marika and Stella centered around cover photos for an upcoming book! But what we can say is that Stella is truly and amazing dog! We were struck by how she commanded attention when she walked into a room. As Marika and Stella walked into the Starbucks to meet with us, baristas and customers alike all recognized her and came over to greet her. That’s due in part to her status as a ‘Famous Dog of Instagram’ – she has over 34k followers at last check – but also because of her sweet and kind nature.

This was our first photo session that required us to work with animals. It presented it’s own new set of challenges as we had Marika work around Stella, but the two of them seemed almost in sync with each other! We were so excited to be able to capture both book cover images and lifestyle images of the two of them.
