A half hour into our session, we lost her. Jax had made it clear she was ready to be done with photos, and to be honest, she had already done an AMAZING job for a two year old! We tried pulling out one of our go to tricks – candy – and while she loved it, the candy did little to entice her back in front of our cameras. That’s when we heard a familiar sound that brought a smile to our faces. Jax looked up at Priscilla and said, “Mom, you look like you’re going on a bear hunt!”
Side note: If you don’t have kids or haven’t discovered YouTube Kids, then this probably sounds really strange, but we’ll explain!
We knew exactly what Jax was referencing! Priscilla’s black hat reminded her of the YouTube Kids video, “Bear Hunt.” Instantly, Priscilla started singing the song – “We’re going on a bear hunt. We’re gonna catch a a big one! With big green eyes, and a fuzzy little tail!” We couldn’t help but sing along as it is one of Paislee’s current favorites! The best part? It did the trick! Jax was laughing and singing and we were capturing every minute!
When Priscilla contacted us about her idea for her family lifestyle session, we were immediately in love! While most of the family sessions we shoot are in outdoor locations that show off our beautiful state of Arizona and the soft glow of the desert sun, her ideas were a little different. Having seen us photograph multiple branding and blogging sessions on a white backdrop, she wanted her family photos taken in the same way!
When we arrived to the session, we were thrilled to see two things come together. First, their living room was perfectly sized and positioned with the natural light for us to set up our mini-studio indoors! That was a huge win considering our already triple digit temperatures! The other thing that got us excited was how perfectly Priscilla had styled the entire family! The black and white tones gave a super editorial look to the photos!
Priscilla and Michael have such a beautiful family and an amazing life!
