We could tell from the moment they arrived. He was a little unsure of what was about to take place. His eyes told us he wanted to have fun with this, but his body language was hesitant. He didn’t know if he could trust us yet or not. But the moment we got him moving and laughing in front of our cameras, that all changed.
Elizabeth and her son, Wiji, were so much fun to photograph! They just recently moved to Arizona from the Dominican Republic! Elizabeth is one of those selfless, sweet souls we call teachers! And she’s not just any teacher – she spends her days as a Special Needs Program Coordinator, working with some of the most precious young lives every day. We both have massive amounts of respect for Elizabeth and what she does day in and day out. Yes, it’s her job, but we know that it is more than just a job for her. It’s an opportunity to impact lives of some of the most vulnerable children who need her love and attention the most.
Wiji, well…he may have been a little bit camera shy at first, but it sure didn’t last long! Only about 15 minutes into our time together, he started giving us feedback on how much he liked us giving him direction! We knew he was loving it, but what we didn’t fully grasp was how much fun he really was having! We received an email from Elizabeth the very next morning telling us that Wiji enjoyed the session SO much that he was sad when it ended! He was seriously so sweet!
Elizabeth and Wiji, we hope that our time together made you feel welcome in your new home state of Arizona! We admire what you do Elizabeth, and want to say thank you on behalf of all of the lives you positively impact everyday! Merry Christmas to you both!!
